These are some of my favorite sites on the 'net. I don't do link exchanges, but if you link me, I'll probably see it in my tracker. :) As always, azureanstudio.com is link-free, so if you like the site, link away! :)
Below is the cream of the crop, my friends. I love all of these sites for different reasons, but all of them are just oozing with talent. They're definitely worth a visit if you have some spare time on your hands. :)
Title: Lost Memories Studio (http://fenali.net/)
Owner: The sweet, caring, zany, adorable, talented Janice. :)
About: Fenali.net is a gorgeous, (way) above average collective, filled with enough information and goodies to keep you busy for hours (I know this since I was a victim). Her dedication (obsession? haha) to Hitsugaya is almost as frightening as my obsession with Ichigo from Bleach. :P I really can't say enough good things about her. :)
Reason for this image: When I think of Janice, I think of innocence, cuteness, and all things fresh and sweet. I was originally going to pick a goofier Otsuka Ai picture, but I thought this was a good match. ♥
Title: Valiant Knife (http://valiantknife.org/)
Owner: Alex, the girl who can have me all omfglol while reading her sites.
About: Valiantknife.org (formerly astarael.net) is one of the most unique collectives I've ever come across; as soon as I stumbled upon her site, I knew I'd found a diamond in the rough. Alex has a way of writing content that keeps your eyes glued to the screen... and not just cuz the designs look great. (Plus, hello Locke Cole.)
Reason for this image: When I think of Alex, I think of sheer sophistication and overflowing talent. She's a person who simply draws attention based on her utter talent in writing and designing.
Title: Venus Gospel (http://venusgospel.net/)
Owner: The hilarious and quirky Linh, my FFT-loving partner in crime.
About: Venusgospel.net is a collective I hold very dear to my heart because I've been a fan of Linh's sites since the yumeni.net days-- yes, when she linked me, I was all OMG YAY! :D Really, Linh has some of the most amazing talent in putting together sites (who doesn't love a sky pirate?), and I'm so proud to be her affiliate!
Reason for this image: When I think of Linh, I think of the best kind of quirkiness combined with a timeless elegance and beauty. She has so much talent up her sleeve, and I'm proud to know her. :)
These are questions that I've been asked in the past -- whether they've been asked frequently or not, that doesn't matter. :x Instead of having to repeat myself all the time, I figure it makes things easier to have it all written for your viewing pleasure. :D
"Where did you buy your domain name?"
From GoDaddy.com. This is probably the only company on the Internet that I've dealt with that I've only had positive experiences with. I think I've registered approximately 8-9 domain names through them over the years, and there's really nothing to complain about!
"Who are you hosted by?"
I've given up on the notion of Site5.com ever being good again. I was with them for approximately 5+ years, and after the 4 year mark, everything unfortunately went down the drain. I was forced to switch hosts after they lost everything, (even though I still stuck with them for 4 months after that to give them another chance), and have thus far ventured over to HostGator.com, who've been pretty damn good so far. I pay $9.95/mo and get 100 gigs of space with 1,000 gigs of bandwidth... not a bad deal!
"Which hosting companies should I avoid?"
From personal experience, I can say that you should steer clear from Site5, DigitalRice, Saturn Services, OChosting, LiquidWeb, and Weinbar. I'm sure there're plenty of others, but those are the ones that gave me the biggest headaches in the past. If you're looking to have a domain hosted, WebHostingTalk will give you invaluable tips and advice on who to go with -- that's who I used in the past.
"May I use your translations and/or get you to translate a song for me?"
Well, you can use my translations, but I'd prefer that you not post them up on your site without giving credit where it's due (by linking to azureanstudio.com). I just don't wanna see a version of my lyrics up on the web, with someone saying, "I wrote these!" As for taking translation requests, yes I do! All I need from you is the title and artist of the song, along with the Korean lyrics, (but if you can't find the Korean lyrics, just give me a copy of the song, so I can get the lyrics myself). I don't know how quickly I'll translate a song for you, but I'll aim for under two weeks, so if you're interested, e-mail me.
"Can we exchange links or be affiliates?"
I'll try to sound as non-snooty as I can when I say this, but the answer is simply, "I don't know." I don't like to link sites just because they link me; I link the ones that I want to visit on a regular basis because I find something special about it. I do have a tracker, though, so if you link me, I'll probably find you and link back if I like your site. As for affiliation, well... if I want to be affiliates badly enough, I'll ask you, (just like I did with my current three).
"Can we be sibling sites?!"
Probably not. I'm not close enough with any designers to want to do the whole sibling site thing -- all my closest friends online aren't into the web designing scene (unfortunately). D: Of course, I'd love to get to know my current friends better, but I'm not online enough to do that, I think.
"Will you host me?"
I'll pass. If I want any hostees, I'll ask myself. Besides, hosting and domains are so cheap nowadays, it'd probably be less of a hassle to do it yourself.
"Can you design a page for me?"
I could, but I won't. I'm hard-pressed for time these days, and I feel like I barely have enough time to work on my pet projects. :( I also do freelance work on the side, PLUS I work full-time, so it just isn't gonna happen.
"Do you use any chatting programs, like AIM or IRC?"
I don't use IRC or ICQ, but I do use AIM, MSN, and Yahoo. My screen name is reserved for close friends only, though, so I'm not gonna put it out here for display. (I've met some weirdos that way, hehe.) If you feel like you should know my name and don't, just e-mail me.
