It's hard to believe it's actually true, but could 최진실 (Choi Jin Shil) really be dead? This news breaks my heart in too many ways to even express... it may not mean much to the people out there who haven't acquainted themselves with Korean entertainment, but I'm just having a hard time typing this without having tears form in my eyes.
최진실 had become my favorite actress during her role in 별은 내 가슴에 (Star In My Heart), a miniseries that played in 1997 (I was only fifteen years old at the time!). I've followed her ever since, holding the opinion that she was the cutest, sweetest, and most talented actress in Korea... and for those of you who've known me for years, you'll probably remember how often I used to talk about her, (and in fact, don't you remember the numerous layouts I made with her?).

Apparently, on October 2, 2008, she committed suicide by hanging herself in the bathroom; it'd been rumored that she'd been struggling with depression, but no one ever thought she'd take such extreme measures.
Let's pay our final respects and hope that she can finally rest in peace.

|Hello all, you've stumbled across the latest revamp of Azurean Studio. I've decided (once again) to shift the direction of this domain, and I'm hoping this is the last time I do it. :]
Anyway, there's a new layout, featuring images from Otsuka Ai's latest single, クラゲ、流れ星 (Kurage, Nagareboshi). With summer finally ending, I figured it was time for this domain to get a facelift! (And am I getting old, or are the years going by faster and faster?)
I don't have much to say today, so I'll end with a bit of K-pop news — has anyone heard Seo Taiji's new song, T'ik T'ak? It's awesome and thought-provoking, to say the least. I'll probably end up translating the song sometime in the distant future, but if you haven't seen it, make sure to YouTube it!
And to display how old I am just a little bit more, do you all remember when Seo Taiji first debuted? I was either 10 or 11 years old, but I just remember thinking that Seo Taiji was like a cuter version of 소방차 (Sobangcha), hahaha.

It took me forever to find that old image of Seo Taiji & Boys, by the way. I'm thinking even the Internet wants to forget that they used to dress like that. ;] Anyway, it'll take a split second to realize that over the course of sixteen years, there's been a complete 180 in terms of style (both musically and with fashion, thank God).
However, there's one thing that's managed to remain constant since the beginning: Seo Taiji will always be an influential icon in the Korean pop world.
